Natural and cozy but yet clean and modern, this project incorporates the outdoor wilderness perfectly with indoor comfort.
This contemporary cottage design was built on a remote island on Georgian Bay designed in collaboration with the owner and Constructed by GB Heintzman, complete with nickle reveal shiplap interior and an open concept kitchen with a large kitchen island. This beautiful new building was built in 2017 on a choice spot in Cognashene where a hundred year old cottage sat, beyond repair. This new mid century modern looking cottage gives the spectacular property new life, nestled behind the windswept pine trees blending old school character with modern conveniences.
The cottage was built with standard stick build frame and cathedral truss roof construction. The goal was to keep the finishes simple with an open concept design with a separate traditional screened in Muskoka room for rainy days or buggy evenings.
